Directions
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Coat two 8-inch cake pans with nonfat cooking spray. Dust with flour.
COMBINE flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Beat butter in large mixer bowl at medium speed until creamy. Gradually add SPLENDA® Sugar Blend for Baking; beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract; mix until blended.
COMBINE water and milk in medium bowl.
ADD 1/2 of the flour mixture and mix at low speed until well blended. Add water and milk; mix at low speed until well blended. Add remaining flour mixture and beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until smooth. Spoon batter evenly into prepared pans.
BAKE for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
SPREAD whatever icing you decide I just put regular icing on mine milk chocolate but if your staying sugar free best to pick up what was originally to go with this and that was sugar free cool whip.
- All The Ingredients I used (Pillsbury baking spray, Arm & Hammer Baking soda, McCormick pure vanilla extract, generic baking powder, generic baking cocoa, store brand eggs, store brand 2 % milk, store brand butter, all purpose flour) I also forgot the splenda sugar blend in the pic below
1st I sprayed the pan and lightly dusted with flour wish I had dusted less cause it showed up on my cake grrr hate when that happens
this is a pic in the medium bowl with flour and cocoa powder thats it
this is the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and baking powder all in a medium bowl (dry contents only)
I melted butter in microwave then for about 2 mins then put in large bowl (for liquids)
Blended the butter with mixer til it looked creamy and smooth
Another shot of it
Then little by little you blend in the splenda which fluffs up the butter alot as you can see
I couldn't show the pic of it but then you add the vanilla in it and blend some more you can see how its more yellow looking due to that though
this is in the 3rd bowl which is also medium is your water and milk mixed alone
then you pour the water and milk mix into the butter and splenda mix... yucky I hated the consistency of it at first thought I did somethin wrong but its supposed to go through this step.
Closer shot of the texture its only where the hot butter mixes crappy with water
Then you pour the flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda mix into the large bowl. You have to add a little at a time till all is mixed in. It will still have the same texture for a bit though no worries there.
Once all blended it will look like this and its smooth and taste so good you can't even tell its made with splenda and not sugar
Pour in the pan after and put it in the oven and then cook it thats it
I got messy as you can see with flour and cocoa powder on my apron
This is why i hated flour ugh but then you cover up with icing of course but this is after its baked.
I cut this and put icing only on one half and it wasn't meant to look too pretty just tasty hehe even though you can add your icing prettier if you would like this makes 2 cakes this one below is the 2nd cake after it was iced.
