The Medium Next Door Book Review

I enjoyed getting to review this book The Medium Next Door from Maureen Hancock. I enjoyed this book very much. In it Maureen tells of her family growing and the long line of Irish mediums in her family. She takes us through her childhood and how hard it was for her seeing and hearing the things she was experiencing and afraid to tell anyone except her grandma Mac about them. She takes us through the lead paint poisoning she went through as a child and how after she came out of the coma how her life changed. She reached a point in her young life she shut all the spirits out. Until she was in a bad car accident and her grandma Mac's spirit pulled her from the car then she finally realized her calling. When she recovered from the car accident, she started reaching out to those sick with cancer and their families helping them cope. She also reached out to parents who had lost children to death and disappearance. She helped so many deal with their grief and connected them to their lost children whether in spirit or in helping find them. She has several non-profit charities http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifthat helps these families during their times of grief and on ward to realize their family members aren't dead just different. That they are still with them and watch over them. That they will be together again and that the love never dies. This book opened my eyes to alot I have been shutting out for my whole life. Thank you Maureen for helping me to see that the love doesn't die and the anger is not carried over. Maybe now I can let go of some guilt. My mom is the one who read and wrote this and she really did love the book The Medium Next Door from Maureen Hancock I do hope you check it out for yourself hopefully soon i can get a chance to read it myself.

BACKGROUND:
Spirit medium Maureen Hancock, www.MaureenHancock.com
discovered her psychic abilities to communicate with the dead when she was just five years old. Descended from a long line of legendary Irish mystics, she was no stranger to the spiritual realm, but she kept the otherworldly messages to herself throughout her childhood, eventually suppressing them almost completely. Maureen wouldn't open herself up to the spirits again until she was in a near fatal car crash. Soon after, she had hundreds of voices trying to speak with her, many of them helping her crack cases and expose fraud in her role as a litigation paralegal at Logan
Airport. Accepting her gift but still keeping it mostly under wraps, she married and had two children. It was not until tragedy struck on 9/11 and Maureen was bombarded with messages from the spirits that she realized she had to put her ability to its best use.
Maureen left her job at Logan Airport and opened the holistic healing

Today, known as the "Medium Mom," Maureen strives to balance her motherhood and
mediumship. “Other than my work with the sick and dying, helping parents who’ve lost
children is a top priority for me,” Maureen Hancock explained. “I receive at least 10 new requests per week from parents who have recently lost a child. “ She provides free sessions to connect families for closure and peace. “It feels really good to say I never charge for my private medium sessions.” Hancock volunteers her gift and speaking experience to raise funds for many non-profit organizations, both local and internationally known. “I receive requests from various parts of the country now on missing persons and murder cases. Currently, I’m assisting a female homicide detective in North Carolina on a few cases,” Hancock explained. She is especially proud of raising funds through her Postcards from Heaven events to bring several children to the United States each year for much needed medical treatment and a summer holiday away from the debilitating environment from which they live.
