The North Carolina Barbecue Company Review & Giveaway (V-Day Guide)(Closed)

This is great for any valentine's day gift

I received the Small BBQ Battle Box from The North Carolina Barbecue Company to review. Well its kinda funny upfront I mean I'm a born and raised North Carolinian and I never knew there was a Piedmont barbecue that was any different than ours on the eastern section where I am until this company so I couldn't wait to try it out. We got this really fast although it comes from maybe 2 1/2 hours from us anyways. lol. We got this in a freezer pack and the barbecue was frozen so we put in the fridge to defrost slowly. The slaw blew my mind because ours has always been white and sweet and yummy of course and the Piedmont is red I was like WHAT!!! Their sauce in the Piedmont also has to be refrigerated where ours don't. Later on we got a chance to sit down and have supper the first night we decided to eat the eastern of course and the slaw wasn't quiet as sweet as I'm used to but not far off and the barbecue we have is cooked throughout with sauce made into it which makes the flavor so much better and you have extra to put on it when its done. Also another way we make our nc bbq is like htey have theirs with the hickory flavor there is also cedar kind and many other ways to fix it as well. Now although their sauce was good if you ever come to eastern side of our state check out Clear Run Farms brand its just a small no name company here in Sampson County they make most of our sauce although they are right most of ours is more vinegar base. Now the next day we decided to try the Piedmont style and the red slaw was too spicy for me to eat Joe liked it but he said it was way too bitter no sugar at all and the pepper they used in it takes away from the taste. As for as their barbecue from Piedmont area you have to put the sauce on it or something cause its just blah and plain no seasoning at all cooked into it just bland so I tried some of their sauce and I spit it out I hate it too spicy all the way around. Joe said it was ok but not all that and so I loaded mine down with ketchup yet even that couldn't put flavor into it cause it had none. All in all glad I got to try the battle of the boxes from The North Carolina Barbecue Company but this definitely has taught me to enjoy my barbecue more and never move to the western part of our state yucky. If you want true barbecue when you visit NC try our eastern ...lol... Anyways we're gonna stand by our eastern and I want to make sure everyone knows my husband is from PA and he loves hot stuff but still prefers ours and said he could leave the Piedmont easily. This would be a great for valentines day gift idea for the man in your life or the woman so get yourself some today.
